**STATE BOARD MEMBER TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING DECEMBER 3, 2007**

Ninth District Public Hearing



The State Board of Education will hold a public hearing for citizens in the Ninth Congressional District on Monday, December 3, 2007. The meeting will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Ellijay Elementary School, 32 McCutchen Street, Ellijay. The focus of the hearing will be: 1) presenting the details of the new graduation rule, 2) the new math standards, and, 3) sharing with the audience what assistance will be made available from the state to help with the implementation of the math standards via teacher training for the next couple of years. This will be followed by a question and answer session. Mr. Larry Winter, the Board’s Ninth District representative, will conduct the hearing. Persons wishing to speak should sign in upon arrival.
