Program/Unit: Accounting Services/Office of Finance and Business Operations
Description of Duties: Under limited supervision, monitors agencies state and federal cash balances and manages cash draws. Duties include but are not limited to supervising a limited number of professional and technical accounting subordinates; managing the recording, maintenance, reporting and control of agency revenue and cash; recommending and implementing departmental accounting policies and procedures in accordance with statutory and professionally accepted standards; interacting with agency administrators and staff, professional accountants, auditors, vendors and financial institution officials on accounting and fiscal related matters; monitoring and evaluating accounting trends and innovations which may impact the practices of the accounting program.
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a closely related field and three years of professional level experience in accounting, one of which must have been in a supervisory, administrative or lead worker role.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following: • Master’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field • Experience in governmental accounting, preferably with a state agency • Experience with Federal Grants and drawing these funds • Experience working with bank reconciliations, grant reporting, OTFS transfers • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint). • Experience utilizing PeopleSoft General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, and Cash Modules
Salary/Benefits: Pay grade 17 – Annual salary range $43,063.23 (minimum) to $75,523.31 (maximum). Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment and relevant education/training and work experience and available funding. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
