Program/Unit: Accounting Services/Office of Finance and Business Operations
Description of Duties: Under general supervision and in accordance with established accounting procedures, guidelines and practices and agency policies and procedures, performs paraprofessional accounting and fiscal control functions, such as cash, accounts receivable, and related general accounting. Reviews, monitors, and inputs transactions, balances and reconciles accounting records, and prepares reports.
Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree in a business curriculum or related field and two years of experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions OR Bachelors degree in a business curriculum or related field OR four years of experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions OR one year of experience at the lower level (Accounting Assistant 2, Motor Fuel Accountant, Grants Assistant, Budget Analyst Paraprofessional) or at an equivalent position (Account Specialist; Accountant; Loan Servicing Representative; Loan Funding Assistant; Account Specialist; Accountant, Paraprofessional; Loan Administration Rep).
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following: • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint) • Experience with PeopleSoft Financials Accounts Receivable/Cash • Two or more years of experience with governmental accounting at the paraprofessional or professional level • Experience preparing detailed accounting and budget reports • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) certification
Salary/Benefits: Pay grade 11– Annual salary range $24,322.01 (minimum) to $42,643.98 (maximum). Hiring salary commensurate with current employment and relevant education/training and work experience. Benefit options include life, disability, dental and health insurance, annual/sick leave, and Employees’ Retirement or Teachers’ Retirement.
